On the 9th month of my first pregnancy i was already going crazy as i would see my due date coming closer and my doctor telling me i was 1.5 cm dilated and i wasn’t feeling any indications of labor, i had heard about the benefits of acupressure massage as a natural inducing method and a friend referred me Hilary as a massage therapist that was knowledgeable in the field. I decided to call her, she came to my house and gave me the acupressure massage on a Thursday afternoon, next day, Friday at 8:00am i lost the mucus plug, around 2:00pm i had a routine Doctor’s appointment when she checked me she told me i was 3 cm dilated and didn’t know if she should send me to the hospital right away or if i wanted to labor at home. I chose to go home at around 8pm the contractions started to become more intense and decided to go to the hospital. I got to the hospital at 9:45pm and i was 7 cm dilated, and i felt the pain was manageable, i was not offered epidural and i didn’t ask for it either, at midnight i was 10 cm and by 12:27 am my baby girl was born.For my second pregnancy i felt i had the formula to success on a natural labor and delivery process, and as the due date was coming closer i called Hilary to give her the heads up that i could be calling her for that wonderful acupressure massage any time, and the day arrived. It was a Tuesday morning this time i lost the mucus plug first and right away i called Hilary, she came in around 3:30pm i had the massage, by 6:30pm the contractions started to become stronger but again manageable, i arrived to the hospital at 9:27pm and was 10 cm dilated, my second baby girl was born at 10:14pm, almost 45 minutes later, again no epidural needed. I am not saying it wasn’t painful, it was, but what i am saying is that the labor inducing acupressure massage promoted a gradual and manageable pain labor, it was fast and natural, no need for any type of pain relief and not because i was trying to be a super woman, but i just didn’t feel i needed it. I am extremely grateful for Hilary’s knowledge and help in both of my labor process, needless to say i highly recommend her to any woman who would like to try a natural child birth.
